Storytelling

Children are encouraged to tell their own stories, sometimes through picture books they are not familiar with so they can read the pictures and sometimes with puppets and props or other toys. Whenever possible I will scribe the stories into words, these sometimes recorded using the iPad so I can do this accurately and so I am free to listen. The recorded stories will be played back the the child and sometimes I take stills and make them a book of it to put in the book corner. They will also feature in their learning stories to be shared with parents.

I like to have props for stories and books familiar to the children so they can play out the story as well as make up their own stories.
