Reggio Inspired
I have attended online conferences where Reggio Emilia teachers have shared their approach and it has inspired me to learn more about the approach. I found that their pedagogy fit well with my own and have found some amazing ideas too.
One area I am really interested in is 'the hundred languages of children' - there are different ways of learning - seeing, hearing, doing, reading; and different ways of expressing - performance, music, physical play, drawing, writing and role play and am planning to develop my observational skills to pick these up and document them to share with parents and the children.
The children will get the opportunity to use real art media such as pastels, charcoal, watercolours, acrylic paints among others, in supervised sessions. They will also have opportunities to use digital camera to document their own learning. Much of their art work and photographs will be shared in their learning stories to show their progress.

These photos are part of one of the children's photography exhibition after she was introduced to a digital camera. We called the exhibit Bunnies and Butterflies through a Child's eye.
